Born on June 1, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee, Morgan Freeman (84) is an American actor, director, and narrator. Freeman is known for his typical authoritative, deep voice. Freeman is among very much respected figures in American cinema, he is known for the various roles in many genres of American films.
Early life & Struggle.
Morgan Freeman was born on 1 June 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee. Morgan Freeman was born in a low-income family, his mother (Mamie Edna) was a teacher who passed away in 2000 and his father (Morgan Porterfield Freeman) was a Barber who died because of liver cirrhosis in 1961. One time when Morgan was 16 he almost died of pneumonia. Freeman made his acting debut in a school play at the age of 9 where he played a lead role. At the age of 12, he won the state drama competition, so basically, Freeman has the God gifted talent of acting. He was also very passionate about acting.
In 1955 Freeman graduated from high school and joined the US Air force as a pilot after spending almost four years in force he decided to pursue his passion, so he moved to Los Angeles to take acting classes at the Pasadena Playhouse. He tried so many times to make it as an actor but sadly it didn’t work, he soon moved to New York following his passion, Morgan faced hard times, He took a job as a clerk typist to survive in the city.
Morgan was 45, without any success to his name, but he never gave up! After facing so many ups and downs in life, Morgan Freeman continued pursuing his dream and eventually became an incredibly successful actor after the age of 50.

Morgan acted in various films of various genres, in the five decades of his long career he first appeared in a feature film show Who Says I Can’t Ride a Rainbow! In 1971. In 1975 Freeman worked in PBS’ children’s Television show “The Electric Company” the show gave him financial stability and acknowledgment among Americans. At the age of 50 he finally started working in popular movies, 1987 Morgan acted in the film “Street Smart” which gave him huge success, he was nominated by Oscar as the best supporting actor in the film.
The Freeman was getting more films now. In 1989 he was again nominated by Oscar for the film “Driving Miss Daisy” where he played a role of a driver. By the 1990s, Freeman was doing great in his acting career, by doing such big-budget films as The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Seven (1995), and Deep Impact (1998), these movies rated very high by the audience.
Again at the age of 67, Morgan finally won the Oscar award for his performance in the film “Million Dollar Baby.” Morgan was appeared in many eminent movies and was known as an exceptionally talented actor with an incredible authoritative voice.
